Because that is the only issue that they can claim that Bush has messed up, and that they had nothing to do with. The other issues are being lost in the scuffle which is good for the libbies!

Republicans refuse to listen to any other perspective except the warmongering one they've had for years now. But instead of discussing Democrats' proposals on their merits, they persist in name-calling. So---anyone who opposes them is a traitor, 'with the terrorists', or 'playing politics.' Hey, here's a newsflash: Republicans play politics too. Gosh, what a revelation! Stop the presses! Except they won't admit it.
Until we get some kind of rational discussion on domestic and international issues going, we're going to be spinning our wheels. And American soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen will continue to die in vain. Again.
