This guy is obviously a very talented baseball player, but I thought the way he conducted himself with the Rangers was really pompous and stupid. Good riddance, Tex.

You have to keep in mind a couple with with Tex

1) He is an East Coast guy where baseball is big.
Because of that he expects certain things
a) He was frustrated mostly with the lack of passion for the club from the fans. In the AL/NL east the fans are very knowledgeable, passionate and supportive.
b) GMs and team management builds contenders and tries to sport competitive teams - for the most part this is true. Management in Texas, JD and his predecessors, have all been grossly incompetent. You don't see that happening in good organizations, and Tex grew up watching good organizations.
c) the Texans have been in the cellar and the only answer they have had is mortgaging the future for present spares. This is not acceptable to Tex.
d) Tex is a competitor and he has been frustrated with the lack of effort for some of the Rangers supporting cast - especially this year with the pitching.

Because of these perceived offenses he has been irritable, or as you put it, "a whiney jackass." So yes he is guilty as charged but to him his attitude is probably justified. Whether or not you feel that way is up to you.

You can say good riddance to him, you cant blame someone for not wanting to finish last every year. I being a huge Braves fan will welcome him, and hope to keep him for along time.
