From your previous questions I know that you're talking about a betta
You should take him out, as soon as the fry is free swimming
Here is a site that explains everything in detail
http://www.bettysplendens.com/articles/catview.imp?catid=856
Hope that helps
Good luck

After the fry grow big enough to not be eaten. Usually tanks a month or 2 just so they can be fast enough to get away. I've got my guppy fry in with my guppy tank, and only a few have been eaten. I'm doing this because I don't want to over populate my tank, and, "only the strong survive" if you know what I mean. However you want to do it, good luck!

fish make dead beat dads for the most part id seperate them once the fry are born or "dad" will have fyy's on the menu. the only fish that i can think of off hand is a seahorse where the father is the one to give birth.

Depends on what kind of fish you have. In certain species, both parents will eat the fry if they can. In others, the father is actually responsible for raising them. Do you have more info?
