And therefore be all possibilities of other worlds?

Actually, our Sun is a star. Stars = Suns and Suns = stars, but not all stars have orbiting planets. It is very possible that life evolved on a different planet. Also, it is a major theory that life began on a different planet and was brought here by a space impact that lifted thousands of peaces of earth for a different planet. Eventually, those pieces landed on Earth and began evolving. That would mean we are aliens***

***Please don't e-mail me arguing. Its only one of the theories and I know there are others.

Our sun is just another average star amoung billions. And so far it looks as if the majority of stars have planets. It actually may be very unusual for a star to form without also forming a planetary system. So far, we have the capability to only find large planets around nearby stars; hundreds have been found so far. As our detection capabilities improve, so will the number of distant planets found increase.

I would say that no, not all stars will have orbiting planets. Of the billions of stars there are several so far that we know of that do have orbiting planets. At this point in time we have no way of knowing whether or not they are capable of supporting life as we know it but it would seem likely that there is or has been life outside of our Earth.

Not just possible but true suns. That is true but the distance is so great that we will probably never even communicate. With present technology it is impossible to travel there.

I guess any stars could have planets around it, but many of the stars in the sky are not actually stars. Many of them are galaxies and other things.
