Travelodge Kill Devil Hills?

Question

I was wondering if anyone RECENTLY (i.e. within the past few months) have gone to Travelodge at 804 North Virginia Dare Trail in Kill Devil Hills, NC (OBX).

I would like your reviews, do you recommend it? What did and didn't you like?

I would like to check out the reviews prior to sending out invitations for a party there in June 2008 and am just curious since the reviews on TripAdvisor are very mixed.

Skinsfan: we are looking into this because of the cost and its a perfect spot for the activities we are planning. Thanks for the info, hope others offer up reviews too!

My dad stayed there last September while I was vacationing across the street. It's nice for where it is and cost. The rooms weren't run down or anything. I've had a few people stay over there for the past 4 years while they visit me on vacation. They all agreed it was OK. I stay at a house on the ocean right across the street. You may be better off having your friends rent a cottage since there isn't a lot of hotels down there. It's only a block off of the beach at a public beach access as well. That's always a plus for lugging stuff onto and off of the beach.
