the Athlon 64 X2 6000+ is a single processor chipset with dual cores each running at a rated 3.0ghz speed. The overall rating is 3.0ghz, with dual core processors you do not add the two cores together to yield a combined total. The rated speed is the total overall speed and the individual core speed.
