First of all, it is impossible to kill or detain all terrorists. There aren't just a few terrorists, and we don't even know who most of them are. If the war is "won" and it makes a huge difference, then yes, some democrats will probably change their tune. Some republicans will also, though. Not all republicans support the war, and not all democrats are against it. People in general will change their tune.

Colin Powell stated two weeks ago loud and clearly that Iraq has fallen into civil war between warring factions. Al Qaeda is causing only about 10% of the mortalities from fighting in the country, said CIA director, so, in a way, your question does not take into account the reality of the Iraq situation.

The Iraq war will not be "won," and all terrorists will no more be killed or detained than will all cockroaches ever be killed or detained.

They will point out that they voted for it, and were only trying to support our troops all along by demanding we withdraw from Iraq.

nope... because Iraq isn't a nation of terrorists.
Iraq isn't part of the war on terror. Never has been.
People think in such small terms... (the war is for oil, no the war is for iraqi freedom, no the war is to kill terrorists..no it was to get saddam's wmd's.)
The war is for oil...but not in the sense that we want the oil for ourselves... that has little value economically to us... It is nothing compared to the amount of money we stand to make by putting Iraqi oil on the WORLD market.
TRUTH: The only reason we went to Iraq...is so countries like Great Britain, the US, and China...can make HUNDREDS OF TRILLIANS of dollars, globalizing developing countries whose economic growth will require Iraqi oil to be returned to the world market. Why Iraqi oil ?...because Iraq is only a defacto member of OPEC...they aren't governed by OPEC.

That will never happen as there as many terrorists in the rest of the Middle East as there are in Iraq. it would take 1,000 years to kill them all, and the whole time, we would be making more.

Yes, there are a finite amount of terrorists.
The more you kill, the less there are to recruit and manage the terror cells.
There are plenty of radical muslims who would like to be terrorists, but without the infrastructure of a terror cell or group, the training, money, leadership, etc. they're just hateful criminals.
