Looking at the answers that have already been given, I think that my initial resonse of 'yes' would really be wrong. After all, we, as humans, are aware that death takes us all in the end; being inevitable, none of us should fear it, per se. If one believes in an after-life, and one doesn't fear any potential 'judgement', then death should be seen merely as a sort of 'doorway to a new beginning. If this is so, I would look forward to being reuinited with my beloved pet dogs, that went on ahead of me.
However, if one believes in an after-life, and especially if one is religious, then a judgement seems more likely. Furthermore, it bears saying that the common interpretation of the after-life of 'heaven' usually gives no thought to what could just as well exist if a heaven could i.e. hell. In *this* case, some people will have reason to fear! It's all very well imagining that death will bring our every heart's desire - but if the one could be true, then so could the other!

As it happens, I'm not sure that there is anything 'beyond' life, so death would be just the cessation of life. Like a dead flower, we will each of us just become utterly still and silent, and turn first to liquid and then to dust. All the pictures and sounds of our memories will be instantly gone, like lost files when your computer crashes. Equally though, any pain will also end; and although it might sound frightening, we won't *experience* it. It will be no different from falling asleep, or going under a general anaesthetic - one moment you're conscious, the next , you're not! I believe the French have called sleep 'le pitit mort' or 'the little death'.

As has been said though, the *method* of dying can be terrible. Oh, by the Gods, as a sensitive person with a low pain threshold and a keen imagination, I can fear *ways* of meeting my ultimate fate!

After my grandma passed away-when I was young- I used to have a lot of nightmares about death. I didn't want to die and leave my family and friends behind. But as I grow older, the fear has subsided a bit. Besides, I'll be able to be with my grandma and mom in the afterlife.

without death there can be no life, without life there can be no death. death is a natural fact each one of us will face sooner or later when our agenda on this plane is completed. all we are going to do is move from one plane of existence to another, although no mortal is certain what that next plane will be like. remember the minute one is born, one starts to die.

Not at all.
I drowned once and had to be brought back, it's not scarey or even painful once you accept it.
Besides, I am a Christian, death is just another stage of being

Not one bit. I know him and I'll leave this cold cold world so in a way I am looking forward to it. Not to the point were I would do something stupid but when it comes, I and my family will be happy.
