Sorry for inconvenience just had to share a bit of history abt it. I complaint to the fish farm and to cut the story short managed to get them to compensate me with medication. The man at the counter dont really speak english. He gave me a kg of salt and a packet of 'yellow powder' to pour in my pond. The packet only has japanese text on it thus I dont know what it is. However I did as advised. My kois are all better now and active. The water is yellowish due to the powder.

a) What is that powder?

b) Been two days now. I hadnt change the water since i poured in the salt and powder medication. There are lotsa bubbles forming at the water surface. They look like bubblenest. What causes this? Is this harmful? Shd I be changing the water?

It's really impossible to say for certain what the medication is that he gave you, but odds are good it's an antibiotic of some type in which case you should expect it to help the fish.

Many medications cause discoloration of the water and bubbles on the surface, that's quite common. Since you have only the one treatment, I would suggest not changing the water for a total of 7 days from the time you added the medication, that will allow a proper term of treatment and prevent a backlash reinfection that would no doubt be resistant to the medication and even more difficult to cure.

Sounds like the powder was the same used in Myracin 2. Change the water and add fresh carbon to the filter. It does do exactly what you said. Watch water perameters closely over the next few weeks, meds kill the biological system. get anti-biotic food from www.goldfishconnection.com I know the stuff works great. Its called Medi-Gold. If your pond is new, they are going through the cycle. you may have to change more water, a lot until the pond has cycled.
