You need to call your doc. ASAP & tell her/him your new symptoms, your infection may have entered your kidneys & this is very serious. They need to do more blood work & I would insist on this.

the back pain should not be getting worse and you may have developed pyelonephritis which is a very serious side effect of a UTI and is treated with different antibiotics. If the pain has gotten worse by tomarrow you will need to go back and let him know that it has gotten worse and he should tap on your back just under the ribs (lloyds punch) to see if there is kidney involvement. If the pain is the same or less severe than before the antibiotics then don't worry and it will continue to get better. Make sure to drink copius water, take cranactin or drink cranberry juice and wipe front to back "down there" and maybe use "wet wipes" to get your front and back very clean after bathroom use.
Golden Knight you have got to be kidding me never recomend a patient not be seen imediatly when pyelonephritis (kidney involvement) is suspected this always needs to be seen in office and ruled out. That advice could cost someone a kidney, or both and even worse their life. I hope you don't speak out of turn too much, wait until you're in med school or finished with at least 1st year before you make statements like the one before.

A UTI is a Urinary Tract Infection. Basically some bacteria have gotten ino your urinary tract and caused an infection. It is likely not a sexually transmitted infection, as there are only a few of them, and they can be identified. So it is just a random bacteria. That is why they are given the generic name "UTI" because there are so many. It's just like getting an ear infection.
As long as you finish the antibiotics and drink lots of water (to flush out the dad bacteria) the pain in your back should also go.

The urinary tract is the body's filtering system for removal of liquid wastes. Women are especially susceptible to bacteria which may invade the urinary tract and multiply resulting in infection.
Although most urinary tract infections or UTIs are not serious, they are painful. Approximately fity percent of all women will have at least one UTI in her lifetime with many women having several infections throughout their lifetime. Fortunately, these infections are easily treated with antibiotics that cause the symptoms to quickly disappear.
Symptoms of UTI or bladder infection are not easy to miss and include a strong urge to urinate that cannot be delayed which is followed by a sharp pain or burning sensation in the urethra when the urine is released. Most often very little urine is released and the urine that is released may be tinged with blood. The urge to urinate recurs quickly and soreness may occur in the lower abdomen, back, or sides.
This cycle may repeat itself frequently during the day or night--most people urinate about six times a day, when the need to urinate occurs more often a bladder infection should be suspected.
When bacteria enters the ureters and spread to the kidneys, symptoms such as back pain, chills, fever, nausea, and vomiting may occur, as well as the previous symptoms of lower urinary tract infection.
Your kidneys are located in your lower back and the pain you feel is basically your kidneys dealing with the infection. The best thing to do is to apply heat to your back and relax. If you are stressed the pain is bound to get worse. This pain will pass with the UTI. This is normal in many cases of urinary tract infections.
I hope you feel better.

Jesus never commanded that anything be written down. He did command us to Love God and Love our neighbor. The Bible Alone doctrine is a man made doctrine, not found in the Bible. Go Figure. The Bible does teach: 1 Cor 11:2 hold fast to traditions I handed on to you. 2 Thes 2:15 hold fast to traditions, whether oral or by letter 2 Thes 3:6 shun those not acting according to tradition Jn 21:25 not everything Jesus said recorded in Scripture 2 Peter 1:20 no prophesy is a matter of private interpretation Rom 10:17 Faith comes from what is heard. Mt 16:19 Peter given you keys of the kingdom; power to loose or to bind Jn 21:17 Peter given Christ's flock as chief shepherd Acts 15:19 Peter pronounces first dogmatic decision Gal 1:18 after conversion St Paul visits chief Apostle Acts 1:13-26 Peter heads the election of Mathias as Apostle Finally Eph 2:20 Church IS built on the foundation of the Apostles.

Be thankful that the burning is gone and it shouldn't take much longer for the back pain to go. Urinary Tract Infections are common in the summer. We sweat more and are often on the go more so it's easier for bacteria to enter the tract. Be sure to wipe/wash well "down there" everytime you go to the bathroom to avoid re-infection.
