First, Claire's has a very limited selection and the makeup can be overpriced for the poor quality.. if you don't have much money to spend on makeup, I'd recommend Wal*Mart or a drugstore, you can get good makeup such as CoverGirl or Revlon for not much. If you're looking to go even cheaper but sacrifice for lesser quality, j.a.n.e., Wet 'n' Wild and a few other brands have makeup items for as low as a dollar, and of course there's always the dollar store, but that's low quality makeup that won't last, and usually isn't good for your skin due to all the fillers they put in to keep it cheap.
As for what makeup to wear, it really depends on your skin type, coloring and face shape, but for a basic, everyday school look, try this:
-2 coats of mascara (Use brown if you're blue eyed, black if brown, green, hazel or grey)
-A light dusting of blush on the apples of your cheeks, the parts that rise up when you smile (Go for a peach shade if you're dark-skinned, pink if you're light-skinned, and something darker with more rose tones if you have olive skin)
-A sweep of eyeshadow on the lower lid, just the lashline to the crease; a tan/pale gold color looks great on every coloring
-Medicated chapstick (apply frequently), topped by clear or light pink lipgloss.. If you're looking to really highlight your lips, pick the same colors as blush, a peach for dark skin, pink for light and a darker, closer to red for olive skin.
Put on your makeup in this order: Chapstick, eyeshadow, mascara, blush, lipgloss.
Foundation causes more skin problems than it solves, so if you're looking to cover up acne, talk to a dermatologist and get skincare prescribed or get Proactiv. After all, why cover a problem when you could just fix it!?
And always wash your face at least 2 times a day with facial cleanser right for your type, if you're a teen you probably have acne or redness.
I hope this helped, good luck!

It depends on you and it depends on fashion.
Eye makeup is really in, so go with something for the eyes.
Young people often over do the makeup, so keep it simple, try lipstick that is not too strong a color and you will find it matches a lot of the clothes you are already wearing.
In terms of a base, talk to the people at the shop. Whatever you are doing, wear it lightly, but they can advice you on what suits your skin.

I wouldnt start with Claire's! Ive used their make up and dont like it! I would start with foundation & powder by CoverGirl, Maybeline, or Neutrogena! Then go to eyeshadow's, blushes, eyeliner & mascara! But like I said-with my experience of Claire's make-up, the only thing I would use from there is lip gloss or glitter!

I suggest you go to a department store instead of Claire's because they have more options. You should start by wearing just lipcolour because it instantly brightens up your face by itself. Invest in a good foundation as well as some blush/bronzer because it gives your face dimension. Go easy on the eye makeup - try using a brownish eyeliner instead of plain black; it makes your look more natural.

I wouldn't reccomend buying it from claires. A drugstore or a grocery store tend to have make-up at low prices, and items that are a bit better then claires make-up. Its really up to you what you buy, but have fun playing around with it.

I'd advice to start wif powder, blusher & lip gloss but make sure to test the product first for sensitivity. Be sure to read up a little on things such as SPF n all. As u grow more confident feel free to experiment.

i agree with the going to Walmart first. they're cheaper so you can buy more stuff to play around with. you want the basics: foundation, eyeliner and mascara. play around with shades to see what looks on best on you and what you like. have fun!
