I am applying for a job as a fleet service agent at an airline company. I have a class b misdemeanor (poss of marijuana). The actual offense/arrest was a little over 10 years ago(25JULY1997). I did deffered adjudication, and my probation ended In November 1998.
Since then, I have a clean record, and am just coming out of a 6 year stint in the airforce. I believe I am more than qualified for this position, but will this old blemish on my record create a problem?

Apply and see.

In fact, be up front and honest about the problem.

It is possible it will count against you, but possibly if they have a large list of other qualified people applying for the same job.

You should be fine... get that misdemeanor expunged though so you won't have to worry about it anymore. Good Luck.

Very doubtful you will be denied.
Felonies would deny employment.
Misdemeanors are petty offenses.
