Ok so I got home from work yesterday and there was this big brance that looks like it comes from the type of tree that I have in my front yard thrown on the side of my driveway by my house like someone was tryin to say "this is yours." So I was like wtf? And if it was mine I never saw it and if it was mine how did it get out of my yard and into my neighbors? So anyways the neighbor on that side has a big dumpster in the driveway cuz they are working on their rent house. So I took it and threw it in there. Now it laying all up on the dumpster. What do you think?

Sounds to me as if it would be pretty easy to determine if a branch was missing from your tree. Even if you never paid much attention to the tree a missing branch means there is a fresh bare-wood area exposed somewhere on the tree. Now, if the neighbor is doing construction it is possible that a branch of your tree extended into his yard and was interfering with the construction crew. If so, he had every right to cut the portion on his side of the fence off. He may have put it on your side so you'd know what had happened or in fact, the construction crew may have done it all. If I were you I would have a civil conversation with my neighbor to find out what happened and try to avoid a life long fued over something as simple as this might be.

1. The branch was thrown toward the dumpster and the person throwing it missed. (You don't mention how far away the dumpster was from the branch.)
2. Neighborhood kids were playing with the branch and left it in your driveway. It might have come from anywhere.
3. The branch did indeed come from one of your trees; whoever cut it wanted you to know what they had done as a courtesy. (Some people are particular about trimming their trees.)

As another poster suggested, look at your tree to see if it's missing a branch. And relax! It's not likely that someone's trying to aggravate you.

I myself get paranoid about soda and beer cans thrown into my front yard (but then I work with high school students, whom I sincerely hope don't know where I live!).

If it's your tree, it's your branch. The dumpster is your neighbors and you actually have no right to put anything in there.

You could also have burnt the branch and made a nice fire. Also could have been used to cook some mashmellows.

Seriously though. I suggest just going to your neighbor and talking about it. Try not to draw conclusion before hand.
