Your right guns don't shoot people, guys coming home early, unexpectedly, from work shoot people. I have absolutely no problem turning in my guns as soon as all the criminals leave the country forever.

No way. When you put legislation in place to take guns away from the people you get a bigger problem. Sure all of the hard working good folks turn theirs in, but all of the people who shouldn't have them will keep them. Look at what happened in Texas. I don't have exact stats, but it was something like this. Ron Paul put a law in place trying to arm every citizen. The idea being: why would you try to rob anyone when there's a good chance they have a gun themselves? Seriously, do you think people would get mugged if there were 10 people walking down the street packing heat? But I read that once the law was in place the crime rate in Texas dropped by over 50% over night. The solution isn't to take the guns away, but to get a handle on the firearms trade, and to try to keep the automatics out of the hands of civilians.

There are many deaths from automobiles. Should we outlaw them? They don't kill by themselves, but many idiots have access to them.

To outlaw guns would require a constitutional amendment. The right to bear arms is one of the rights guaranteed by the US constitution, and makes it as important as the rights of free speech and freedom of religion.

Personally I do not own a gun, but as a citizen of the United States, I will defend the rights of others to own one. Just as I would defend the right of free speech for someone that I don't agree with and whose ideas I find distasteful.

A gun is a tool, nothing more, nothing less. There is nothing inherently good or evil in it.

Rather than talking about banning a tool, how about talking about changing the society that is creating the idiots?

This was not a gun issue. Do you honestly believe this man was shot by a registered gun. If so then balistics will help prosecute the person who shot him. Legal gun ownership, as well as, registered weapons make police officers work easier. It is the pawn shops and private exchanging of weapons that puts guns in violent peoples hands. If you disarm the lawful people then you are making it easy for the violent people who abuse guns to hurt more people. If the landlord had a gun on his side like in the old west days then he would still be here.

Guns are neither the problem nor the solution.

People are both.

If people want to kill they will. We can and should do everything within reason to deter such behavior, but we cannot stop it. Nearly anything can be a weapon and nearly anyone could kill at any moment. They will be punished after the fact, but by then it is too late.

Implementing more weapon restrictions isn't going to solve the problem because the problem isn't about weapons. The problem is about people. We need to go to the root, determine what brings people to kill, and implement solutions that will affect long term choices and outcomes.

It's not about removing the option to kill. That would be impossible. It's about teaching people to choose the right. If you teach correct principles the people govern themselves.

Well if we're gonna ban guns, lets do the same for cigarettes, knifes, fattening foods, boards with nails in them, prescribed meds, rat poison, rope, and pillows (Used to smother people)... So my answer is no so that we can use them to shoot those idiots. They say that some people are only alive b/c it's illegal to kill them...

We also have too many idiots who have a driver's license and quite a few who drive without a license and/or insurance. I would support registration of gun ownership and mandatory safety training and target practice for all gun owners.

No. Taking away rights won't solve any problems.

No, but it should be a lot harder for "idiots" to have access to them.
