1) I'm a whiteboy
2) I think he's guilty of some of the accussations, not guilty of others. If he was directly involved, I think he stopped a couple of years ago.
3) Sure. He needs time to prepare his defense, and the league does not need a distraction like this. Playing professional sports is a privelige, not a right. Player conduct and public opinion should be reason to issue a suspension. These people are role models for our kids. They should act like it.
4) Yes. If you watched some of those games, and didnt think it was the absolute worst job of calling a game ever seen on a professional level, something is wrong with you. He may not have directly gambled on the games, but he was definitely helping someone out.
5) Eh... I don't think it was fair for them to fire him, but obviously he should be suspended immediately until it was investigated. Fired and disgraced if found guilty.
6) Well, fixing a game causes a whole set of drama across the league. It makes people think that championships were not won fairly and now fans will be questioning the refs. Thus it was reasonable for big Tommy to be fired, but they can argue it was out of line for Vick to be suspended.
7) Well, it's an entirely different situations. First off, a suspension is way different than a firing. If the ref is found to be innocent, and he was fired and not suspended, he can sue the league, especially since it makes him look much guiltier before the trial. He should have been suspended without pay because you cannot have a ref with questionable morals/motives in the league. It undermines the entire league's integrity. At the same time, if he is found innocent, his position can be restored, and his name will not be tarnished. Vick's suspension was more for his own and the Falcon's organization's good because of all the drama and distractions it would have caused.

1 - white
2 - I believe that AT THE LEAST he knew what was going on there. I haven't seen any of the facts other than what the media has twisted at us.....so I am by no means sure of his innocence or guilt.
3 - yes. Goodell has shown time and time again that he's punishing you for being a bad representation of the NFL and if Vick was negligent enough to let people who would do that kind of thing live and run a business at his home, he should be punished.
4 - Again, all I know about Donaghy is what the media has twisted at us, so I don't know...I wouldn't doubt it though, and I doubt that the feds would go through the trouble of investigating him if there wasn't some clear evidence
5 - I believe he had already stopped being an official.....but even if he hadn't, it is 100% ok for the NBA to fire anybody amid alligations like that
6 - you're very right.....the race card is being played when it shouldn't
7 - got me....it's the same situation....and it would be a shame if some ignorant SOB was too racist to see that.

1. Asian - Filipino
2. From what I hear in the news and from what the investigation is saying unfortunately YES
3. Yes - I think his trials will only disrupt the team and it will give the team an impression that this will boil over in the end and he will definitely be the starter, which in a case MIGHT not happen
4. From what I read YES
5. NO-I believe he deserves to have his case thoroughly investigated jsut like any other misdemeanor
6. First of all, racism stems from the ignorance that a person holds because of generational traits. Racism can also be brought upon by peer pressure or influences from the outside world that might contradict the moral lessons one learns form family, if present and with good morals. If YES was answered to both 3 and 5 without any reasoning then yes they might be accused of being racist towards either one.
7. It is not completely possible to not be a racist because each side, Caucasians and African Americans, will see each answer as a target to their race. Unless both groups of people comprise of investigative people who disregard race when dealing with the law, there will always be racism thoughts whenever this investigastion is running.
In closing, I might not be the best of judges since I am not one of the races invovled in these cases but regardless of that, I still believe that these cases should be free from judgement due to race but be strongly rooted in pursuing the truth to at least give a correct judgement to the people involved

You may find some not being truthful about their race and answering the way you propose in 6 & 7, just to stir things up.
I don't know how anyone can say the charge against Michael Vick is racist. There are far too many other black athletes in the NFL who are living exemplary lives and are faring well in their careers.
I think it is noteworthy that the NAACP asked for the public not to judge Michael Vick before his trial, but they didn't mention the OTHER black guys who are charged along with him.
I believe that only in Atlanta the opinion on Michael Vick's guilt is run along racial lines. Too many blacks in this forum alone condemn his actions as well. Here in Atlanta the blacks have come out in force to support him, some even saying they don't care if he did it, he should not be punished.
I understand black people being uncomfortable with another black being judged by a majority white public. However, I also feel they should 'pick' their battles, and this battle is very obviously NOT racial and they should choose a more worthy candidate for their support, as I am sure there are many cases out there that ARE racial and should be championed.
I also understand blacks mistrust of white society. It has only been about 40 years since blacks were treated with terrible disregard by the American public. Some of the stories I hear are heart breaking, and I think some of the white people guilty of this should have a special place in hell reserved for them. I admire greatly those blacks who rose above this maltreatment, and are successful in their careers and contributing greatly to our society. And I might add, there are MANY of these blacks in the US, so painting all blacks with a broad brush is absolutely perpetuating the past behavior of whites towards blacks. It breaks my heart to see good, kind, successful blacks forced to suffer for what some of the other blacks are doing today in our society. To those who stand by their prejudice, how would you like to be judged by the actions of Jeffrey Dahmer, Timothy McVeigh, Gacy, and George Bush? I didn't think so.

1) Creole (French and Haitian) and Irish; hence the screen name
2) Yeah
3) Yes. can't be rewarded for even suspected bad behavior. Your friends are an example of you just as the players are an example of the league.
4) Yes.
5) Being a ref could either make a team win or lose. So, yes it is fair to fire him
6) People want you to think like them. When they don't have facts, they rely on racism.
7) Refer to answer 6. When people see something happen for one group and not the other, the assumption is always made that it's based on race. When Maguire beat Sosa for the most home runs a couple years ago, people were wondering why Sosa didn't get as much press. He didn't get it because he didn't break the record. Here, no one is really sure how much involvement both people had so it's difficult to really make a decision. I am not a racist by any means.. I rely on the preponderance of evidence.
