id recommend printing through a different program, most Epson printers will come with Free software, such as Photoquicker or Easy Photo Print. check your paper size is correct as well.
if you dont have the software, you can get it for free off epson.co.uk

Sounds like you do not have the correct driver installed for your printer. That would keep it from being able to properly read the picture file. Check the Epson web site to see if they may have an updated driver for your printer.
