If the stamps have been valued at £1750 you shouldn't be trying to chase more. The first point is, whenever you had your valuation, the collection could only be worth £750 within one minute of the valuation. Like all collectables, the value of stamps goes up and down, depending on the demand. Age does not play a part in the valuation, only condition and rarity apply. Coins are the same. You could pick up a coin that is hundreds of years old and it may have no value at all as it's in poor condition and there are thousands of them around. Nowadays, most people would sell collections on E-Bay. It's either that or an Auction House. You have to bare in mind that whatever you raise, you will have to pay a commission on it. The risks are the same, at auction, they might go for only one or two hundred pounds if there is no demand for the stamps you have. However, if you manage to be holding a rare stamp, you may reach £10,000 plus. It's the way it goes. The same applies with E-Bay. However, E-Bay reaches a much wider audience and reaches people worldwide, in their homes etc. If you are not willing to take the risk of an auction, then look in your local Yellow Pages for Stamp Dealers. Sell them to a stamp dealer and he will take the risk, that's how they make their money. However, depending on recent markets, you could be offered a lot less than the valuation as prices could have collapsed. Take the £1750 as a marker and if the offer is over £1400, accept it. Don't get too greedy in believing that you can get more by shopping around or waiting as the value could continue falling and you will never sell as you are holding on for more. If you are off ered over £1750, take it, don't be greedy as the value could be at it's peak and could collapse the very same day.

Everything has "value." One man's trash is another's treasure...Call a local appraiser and get some estimates. You can auction the stuff or, find someone to sell it on-line via EBay...Or, you could donate the items to a charitable organization and take the tax write-off...My guess is, a 55 yr old stamp collection could be worth some good money...Good luck!

Lots of people value stamps at high prices when infact most 'old stamps' are only worth a couple of pence!! :(
Get your stamps valued again, and if there's any RARE ones, get a certificate for them, then sell them online.
I'd advise you check out - http://www.stampwants.com - If you do decide to sell them!

There were so many woodworking plans with this collection and you will not believe this but there are over thousands plans in the one package deal. Go here https://tr.im/WoodworkingProjects
This is really something to find that many all together. For someone like me who is just really starting to get involved with woodworking this was like letting me loose in a candy store and telling me I could have anything I wanted. That was my dream when I was a kid.
