This is a trick question.

Alec Stewart was the captain of the only test that England played in July 2000, the second test against West Indies from 29 Jun - 3 July of 2000.

Alec Stewart also captained four ODIs in the Natwest series with Zimbabwe and West Indies, on 8 Jul, 9 Jul, 13 Jul and 15 Jul.

Nasser Hussain then captained three ODIs of that series, on 18 Jul, 20 Jul and 22 Jul.

So both Stewart and Hussain were England captains in July of 2000.

vakayil, you are normally right on, but you are incorrect about the ODI captaincy for England in July 2000. sluchman above has it right.

England played 7 ODIs in the natwest series (against Zimbabwe and West Indies) in July of 2000. Alec Stewart captained matches 2, 3, 5 & 6. Nasser Hussain captained matches 8, 9 and the final. So both Stewart and Hussain were England's captain in July 2000.
