Oh, intelligent movies? Well, I have to confess that I loved Transformers and Die Hard 4. But, since you gave Zodiac as example, I have to say there are no intelligent movies at theaters right now. I could tell you 1408 is a really good movie, something different. Bourne Ultimatum is coming this week, that's a good one. On DVD you may want to watch Children of Men, The Prestige, The Illusionist, Syriana, Ocean's (11,12, I think 13 is still on theaters).

Try watching some foriegn films! Foreign language films do not always = boring "art films" either. Times have changed. Movies from Germany, China, Italy, Korea have in the recent years been much more interesting than what Hollywood has been doing -- and thus the slate of remakes of movies from those countries.

"Talk to me" - an amazing film with Don Cheadle - about Petey Green, an ex-con turned DJ who works at a radio station in Washington D.C. in the 70's.
It's a great story and done really well. No special effects. No fancy camera work. Just a good solid story with great characters.
It's funny. It's cool. It's dramatic. And it's got Academy Awards written all over it.
It's kind of like the "Shawshank Redemption" crossed with "The Fisher King" and a little bit of "Talk Radio".
Highly recommend it.

It depends from the type of movies you want to see. There is a Spanish movie, for example, called "The sea inside" which is one of the best ones I've seen recently and not only recently, but surely it's not an action movie.

Have you looked into Asberger's syndrome? That is on the autism spectrum and involves a lot of the behaviors you mentioned. Keep trying. Tell your doctor you are unhappy and take a written list of why. Learn all you can so you can be more informed. I have a borderline autism child and I have to fight for what I think is best for him.
