Marriage should be a union between two people that are genuinely in love with each other.Who are both committed to building a life together.Who are both willing to work at keeping their marriage healthy and happy.Who will be each others refuge in a storm and your piece of heaven, when times are fruitful.Who will make each other laugh and always make each other feel desired and wanted.Unfortunately in these times,I do not feel many people take marriage serious enough and probably should refrain from it.Marriage is worth doing if the people are on the same level and are willing to put forth the effort.Gosh, that was long and sappy.I guess I have strong feelings on the matter.

It means one of the biggest commitments in a person's life. I'm not married and I don't know if I would do it. I always fantasize that I will marry if I am in a relationship with someone for like 12 years, then when I'm sure it will work, then make it legal.

I am already married and I see marriage as a declaration of partnership between two people who love one another.
I married Richard because I loved him and wanted to be with him for the rest of my life. He is my other half in most senses and we complement each other.
Gosh, I have just read what I have written and it sounds a bit soppy! LOL

It doesn't mean what it used to... I only want to do it once... that's why I'm not married. It is a union, a partnership mixed with love, care, and commitment.. it takes work. Marriage seems to be really casual these days... i'll know when i am ready.

Seems like, out of the answers above, the single people think they know more about marriage than the married people! Weird, huh?

i think it's a completion, a puzzle peice filled. I think not everyone has to or needs to be married and if they're not married they are incomplete. It's more like opening a space for someone in your heart so that now that they fill the space you wonder how u lived without them, how you feel complete with them and a void without them.
its a tie, a knot, its making yourself available to only them and them only to you when you get married. a life comitment to each other to bare the others burdens and joys.
to me i feel like i am always with my best friend that i can confide in him and know i will never be a part. i feel with each other now we can move forward in a whole new light in this world. and i could never imagine being apart.
i would marry my husband again and again and again if i could. its a magical moment getting married that you then get to live out.

It's an effort to complete the mission called life! Somehow, there is something wanting, a kind of a void, that calls for filling, so as to complete the canvas, for the total picture: that is marriage!

I'm married. To me it means no more lonely nights, no more head games, no more dating disasters, no more hit and runs, no more trying to find Mr. Right with a bunch of Mr. Wrongs. It means security, friendship, and just knowing I have someone I can count on.

Being single was enjoyable for a while.
Married to the wrong person was hell.
