this is something i just thought about.--- if a person is a racist and calls you names and you turn around and call him names or call him "racist" are you now being racist to that person????

No I don't think so if that's all you do is call that person racist. Cause if you do that you're just calling someone racist. But if you go beyond that you're defiting and go with them that way. Besides there's better things to spend energy one but it's a good question.

To a certain degree. If you truly are NOT a racist then you would NOT call another person by a racist term. (name) But with me, CALL me anything you want. It's words, its like water on a duck, It runs right off ya.

lots of people throw that word around too easy - many times its a way to gain power...
did you know that racism is natural and occurs in the animal kingdom too?? eg. if you have a group of horses some are pintos (spotted) and some are solid colors - they will tend to form groups of pintos and solids - while they may remain in one larger herd you will find groups of friendships are stronger among those of similar types (solid vs pintos).
if you have a group of sheep and goats - the sheep will stay with the sheep and the goats will stay with the goats...
its because they recognize what their mom looks like and bond to that much easier than bonding to something even slightly different..
racism is natural - however some races use it to give themself more power... eg. reality shows - contestants who are of minority color never get voted off first because all the whites are too scared of being called racist if they do... generally as soon as the person does get voted off they say it was because of race (eg Ty on Rockstar did this.. and several on Survivor have done it - with the exception of the show where whites were the minority)... now the reason they cry "RACE" is to perpetuate the fear in whites of ever voting a black person off again - or not giving the black person an advantage over a white person ....
I would much rather people didnt judge based on color and that includes NOT favoring somebody who is a minority over somebody better skilled...right now blacks are using racism to their advantage.. they are keeping it alive.

why do you consider this person a racist?
racism exists on many levels, from the dangerous to the innocuous...it's dangerous when jobs are denied to people because of their color ( and just as bad when jobs are given to unqualified people because of their color )...
and completely innocuous when people gather together with folks they are happy and comfortable with...freedom of association is one of the basic human rights codified in the US Constitution.
quit worrying so much. words are just words.
are you aware that no words can legally justify assault? so, let the words just go...and find someone else to play with.

we all say things when we are angry that we don't mean.... so i would say no... but then again maybe that is the way you actually feel about that one individual.... that does not make you a racist.... have a nice day ...
