I find a lot of truth in the old adage about politics, "if they're not crooked when they get in they will be crooked when they get out." Personally, I believe the problem is only politicians have the connections and inside resources to be elected. I am a high school principal and so often in my profession it is the people outside the profession that makes the decisions for everyone to follow - not really knowing what is best since they are outsiders to the profession. Politicians are too concerned with personal concerns that don't really care to do what is best for the respective states or the U.S. in general. I would love to run, but do not have the finances, resources, or connections to spend my time doing so. The American dream adage, "anyone can become president" is a farce. Show me a normal/average citizen that has become the President in recent times. Wanna help me become president?

I agree it's a farce that "anyone can be President". If you do a little research Mr. Principal you'll find that most of the former Presidents have been related to each other going back "over the pond". Bush and Gore are related ! You'll also find that almost all of them have been Masons which explains how DC was laid out and a few curious things on our paper currency. Do some research on "Illuminati" and "New World Order". That will be enough to shatter any hopes of becoming President .

I would LOVE to see everyday "John Doe" be elected president. BUT it's really not realistic or plausible.

1. They don't have enough money to compete with a candidate backed by corporate America.
2. The average citizen doesn't KNOW all of the laws, much less know how to WRITE them.
3. They would be terrible with the budget and goals. They would spend on what they wanted since they have no party or anything else to report to.
4. Foreign policy is more complicated than it seems...

I agree with you. Politicians at that level have kissed a lot of ---- to get where they are today. They mold their campaign to fit the needs of the backers. Their campaign people are not sympathetic to their ideas, but are paid people that know how to campaign. They don't care who wins but only how much they are paid. A normal/average citizen can't win an election for dog catcher. But a principal of a school is just not my idea of an administrator of the government. But someone that has ran a huge company with success and dignity - maybe. How about Warren Buffett.

I'd love to see you be president, you obviously have experience with big children and the education system would be much improved.

We all know it's a farce......but in your line of work you are at the forefront of the passing on of evolved thinking battle. nothing improves a person like free thought. rock your boat a little but not enough to sink it. Maybe you can plant a seed of change.

I would love to see people do a couple of years in public service and then get out, so I'm for one term limits. That gets rid of special interest money temptations for re-election funding. Most of the members of Congress are failed businessmen and a quarter of them can't even qualify for a credit card, and if you can't run a business successfully, I'd rather you weren't in Washington. They come to do good and too often stay to do well.

It is always time for a non-politician to become president. Unfortunately, in our plutocracy, you do need to be ultra rich and connected to even entertain the notion of becoming president.
