One thing that comes to mind is the term "gingerbread" to describe the decoration on Queen Ann Victorian houses. This involves spindle work, woodwork, fretwork, and other decorations that adorn these houses.
"Steamboat Gothic" is another term that is sometimes used for Victorian houses that are reminiscent of steamships.
Another example is "Egyptian Revival" to describe churches that have motifs and other features that remind people of ancient Egypt. Art Deco architecture sometimes uses "skyscraper" motifs. Frank Lloyd Wright was famous for his "prairie style" of houses that did not lock out nature. I hope that this has been a help to you.
