For 2y+10=0, if you solve for y, the line is y= -5 . This line intercept the y axis at y= -5. It's a horizontal line!! It NEVER intercepts with the x axis.

You do the same thing for 3x+12=0. This line is verticle. If you solve for x, you'll see that it never intercepts the y axis!

1)

2y + 10 = 0

2y = -10

y = -5

Whatever (y) = is the y intercept.

2)

3x + 12 = 0

3x = - 12

x = -4

Whatever (x) = is the x intercept.

In your two problems, they only gave you one variable each. Usually, you will have an (x) and a (y) in each problem. To find the intercepts, you give x the value of 0 to find the y intercept. You give y the value of o to find the x intercept.

An intercept is where the graph of the line crosses the x or the y axis on a coordinate plane.

2y + 10 =0

2y = -10

y = -5 A horizontal line that intercepts the y-axis at (-5)

3x + 12 = 0

3x = -12

x = - 4 A vertical line that intercepts the x-axis at (-4)

2y+10= 0
2y= 0-10
2y= -10
y= -10/2
y= - 5

3x+12= 0
3x= 0-12
3x= -12
x= -12/3
x= -4

substitute x and y in their places and you will get the same answers.

2y = - 10
y = - 5 is the y intercept
no x intercept

3x = - 12
x = - 4 is the x intercept
no y intercept

2y + 10 = 0
2y = -10
y = -5

Therefore,
y-interception = (0,-5)

3x + 12 = 0
3x = -12
x = -4

Therefore,
x-interception = (-4,0)

you do not even particularly might desire to placed it into slope intercept variety different than to make issues much less difficult for you yet to unravel for the y-intercept you will possibly desire to plug 0 in for x and resolve the equation for y...i like algebra so i'm the guy to ask!

For 2y+10=0
x= -10 y=-5 (10,-5)

For 3x+12=0
x=-4 y=-12

IF I REMEMBER RIGHT (CUZ DURING THE SUMMER I FORGET) THAT SHOULD PROBABLY BE CLOSE! if you have a calculator put it on the graph, hope i helped!

2y + 10 = 0
i.e. y = -5

3x + 12 = 0
x = -4

x-intercept = -4
y-intercept = -5
