I'll bet that nowhere in your job description does it say that you have to worry about what your boss is doing. Your only concern is to do your job to the best of your ability. If you have the time to worry about your boss, then you're not doing your job.
My advice is to grow up, and then find a new job if your not satisified with this one. But, leave on good terms because you have no guarantees that you won't be working for this person sometime again in the future at another company.
Boss problem...guaranteed you're 80% of the problem.

unless he is self employed then I am sure that he has a boss also and if so then his boss maybe hagging on him to get things done faster or better and if his boss is pressuring him then that might be why he is the way he is but, if he is his own boss he just wants things to go his way. My bet is that he is getting pressured at his work and taking it out on everyone else the type that wants to be left alone and thinks that he is king of world and everything is going to be done magically.His boss may not ever listen to him if he has an idea or something. Just try to see things his way what is going on with him and try to understand why he is acting the way that he is and then try talking with him before you start talking with him ask him how he is and listen and when he is done if you yourself have any suggestions then fire away, just walk in and ask him how he is and say I was wondering if I could go over something with you it is important and wait on his response of course then fire away. Don't worry about it be friendly or try to be and be nice to him and take things slow with him and maybe everything will go smoothly with him and you and hopefully you can get him to start listening to you about ideas and if that happens then maybe he will start to listen to any ideas that anyone may have.
