is there a website like google earth where I can search for a map of a country (physical or political both good) and then generate a jpg I can use in my own documents?

i thought it was possible with google earth, but can't get away from the interactive map

thank you!

Tiger will generate maps of the US and is the first link. It can produce gif files which you can convert to jpg with some other program (MS Paint will do it for example).
The second source is an interactive GIS world map. Don't see an option for saving to a file but you can always use a screen shot, paste it into paint and save it.
