Do emigrate. Just make sure as you do and when you do get to where you want to be that you truly work on coming to terms with your past.

The thing is... your past isn't in the UK... your past travels with you no matter where you go. There will always be similarities and it's a small world.

Research, research, research!

If you are looking to get away from judgemental people, America may not be the place you want to go.

Americans are the most judgemental people in the world; *I'm ashamed to admit it... being American myself... but tis true.

We are an egotistical society that has lost touch with how to care for one another. It takes natural disasters and terrorist attacks to bring unity back... It should not be this way.

Additionally, since this whole Iraq thing... the unemployment rate has sky-rocketed; there are businesses shutting down all the time. Our economics are not near what they used to be (not during this administration anyway... can't wait until he's outta there... 1 more year!!! wooohoo)

Our society is very superficial... It's where beauty and fashion and fitting a certain mold reigns supreme. You can have an opinion, sure... but you never want to voice it.

Oh... and I can't forget "Minnesota Nice"... this is where they smile to your face while they're stabbing you in the back.

I say go for your move, but research the region first. Find out what it's like where you want to live.

Stepping off my soapbox now... next!

I'm very sorry to tell you that no matter where you immigrate to, it will only make the waiting period for therapy twice as long. Because first you have to become an immigrant.

The thing is, you're not the only one. Many, many people do this in hopes of getting better care elsewhere only to be very disappointed by the fact it's just as hard in any other country. The immigration offices are aware of this, they will ask you questions like, why do you want to live here? If you say, because you're looking for better mental health resources, that'll be a huge red flag.

I friend of mine lives in the UK (I'm in Canada), and she gets really good serives. Perhaps, it just might be possible, to simply move to a different area in the UK? Maybe?

Attitudes towards mental health is an universal problem, you won't find it's any better anywhere else, sorry.

Well, it is hard to go to different countries without money. So, I would concentrate on getting a job, or selling on ebay, if you don't think you are ready to work just yet, and I don't think you are....but if you could set up an account, you might be surprized, at all the things they sell there...it is amazing, really...and you could earn some extra cash..If you really hate Britain that much, maybe because of dreadful memories, (I don't think you hate where you live, as much as the painful memories you have) then you must begin a search for yourself, and stop letting others bring you down, and find out just exactly what your options truly are...you might be pleasantly surprized, but don't take no for an answer just yet..YOu're a smart lad, do your homework!
