after being caught in a rip tide and crazy under currents once or twice, the ability to swim isnt always a life saver. but I commend you for being a lifegaurd. several people died trying to save my mom's sister in the gulf of mexico during a bad current. I remember her saying at least one was a lifegaurd. her sister had paniced and the currents were bad.

yeah i can .....hey when i was about say 13 14 i was becoming friends with a kid around the corner just starting to hang out and stuff and he was always going to the beach i mean always everyday going to the beach, hey was up where you off too? "I'm going to the beach", you know everyday anyway i remember thinking this guy would probably swim like a dolphin everyday swimming against the current and what not. about a year or so later when summer returned we started going to the beach and i remember the first time i saw him swim i was shocked i mean its hard to articulate what he looked like writing and all but it was fn hilarious he couldn't swim at all and i couldn't believe it i mean if you have ever seen a dog drowning that's kinda what it looked like and i couldn't get over it.... i guess i still haven't anyway i was just thinking what the hell where you doing at the beach that whole time learning to drown..... anyway i just thought i would share hmmm.

I can but not that far!
I think it's a pretty important life skill and so have ensured that my kids are able to swim too. They've all had swimming lessons at the local pool.

yes i can, and pretty well if i may say so myself (well, when it comes to being able to swim a long way or in rough water - i'm no good at things like butterfly stroke or backstroke - can kinda do front crawl, but not well.) and i love it! i love snorkeling in the sea on holiday, and diving down to get a closer look at the fish. it's brilliant! and so beautiful...

well I suppose even if you know how to swim you can still face many dangers out in the open so I'd say I can't swim well enough...I can definitely float though...
