I have this classmate and she's really smart. I'm friends with her… a bit… and I do kind of envy her. She's smart in academics, a great artists, very good in terms of computer and cg's, a great pianist… and above that I think she's easy to adapt to new things.

Another thing why I admire her is because even when you see her not listening during class (she is often seen reading another book during class) she still gets high grades. When the teacher notices, they call her and ask her a question and she answers it like it's nothing. No wonder they don't mind her doing something else during lecture.

Her siblings are as talented as her but I'm wondering how did they turn out like that if their parents are just average-minded people? Is it something the mother did while pregnant?

Or does it really just come naturally to chosen people?

They may be jewish, muslim, or some other culture that pushes excellence as a priority through guilt. I'd suggest asking her about it, she may just be really mad she has to do everything to stay smart.

-Thats not knocking religion any race btw, just stating something general I've found.

Wow, sounds like a very lucky girl.

I think some people are just able to grasp things easier than others. This could have something to do with their IQ? I doubt this was caused by something the mother did when pregnant, and more something the parents did when they were young.

I.e I have two young brother 12 and 10. The 12yr old was read to A LOT as a kid and he's a very very bright kid now. The other weren't read to at all and he's average and not quite as bright.

Hope that helps

Her parents probably not as ordinary as they may seem to you. If you still know them 20 years from now, you will have gotten much more experience, and be better able to judge their capabilities. She may also be what is called an "auditory learner." They seem to learn as if by magic. How they actually learn is by listening. We all learn a bit by hearing, but auditory learners don't need anything other source to know their lessons completely. That's why some of them can read another book or doodle in class, while the rest of us have to pay careful attention and take notes, or suffer the consequences.

its nothing that the mother did during pregnancy, its what she did after pregnancy... talking with the baby as often as possible... and usually it starts talking earlier than most children... its like teaching a parrot to talk, or a dog to do tricks... you have to start as early as possible... teach kids their ABC's early... start counting... just make it a game... i would say that you have the same perspective about that girl as most people think about me... we don't always have the answer... we just just asked many questions in our lifetime. As a child, i didn't get much attention. i did whatever i could to get my parents attention. but i had a lot of other people around me. but it seemed that my parents didn't care.so i tried doing my best in school, but it didn't work... so later i just did everything for myself... but its pretty much your choice if you want to be smart or not. if you really want yourself to understand you will.
