Titanium Metals makes a large majority of the worlds titanium which is a strong metal alloy.

While the plant may not be the most pleasant thing to look at, it is safe. I actually find it oddly interesting myself and cant help but to stare at it when I drive by.

Interesting story about the area... Back in the 80s, rocket fuel was produced there and there was a giant explosion that rocked the entire Vegas area. It blew out windows for miles around. It was known as the PEPCON Explosion and you can see a pretty incredible video of it here...

Gone is the rocket fuel plant and now the general area immediately the Titanium Metals it isnt the nicest place in the Vegas valley but not to far away are some very nice neighborhoods in Green Valley and other parts of Henderson.

Titanium is not highly radioactive, you would be safe.

I live in by a Timet plant here in Toronto, OH.. a bit of an eyesore, but nothing dangerous about it
