Technology isn't ruining our lives?

I have a debate soon on why Technology isn't ruining our lives. I need some points on why it isn't ruining our lives.

It comes out as a wash. It helps and it hinders.

Example: Before the internet, to look something up, you had better be rich enough to have a set of encyclopedias or wait until you went to the library. And, of course, it was always a bit out of date. But - it WAS accurate and the facts were checked.

After the internet, to look something up, you just log on and "start your (search) engines"! You have more information from all sorts of sources - some of them from other countries' points of view! But it isn't necessarily accurate. It could even be totally false.

Another example: Microwave ovens. Before them, you had to take a lot more time to heat your food. If you were old and forgetful, you might even be put in an old-folks home because you would forget you were cooking and catch things on fire. You were a danger to yourself when you ate. However, you could make a larger variety of foods.

After microwave ovens, you take very little time to heat your food. If you are old and forgetful, you are not going to burn down the house when you forget your food is in the microwave. You may burn yourself on it, though. Or forget and leave in metal spoons. I believe I heard that some people are able to remain in their homes just because all they now use is a microwave and the stove has been removed/disabled. However, you can't make as large a variety of foods.

It is the reason why we have transportations
It helps us to do things easier and faster

for example computers and internet are one of the best technology.this helps to have a great amount of knowledge. it is fantastic.I think human being can do great harm to other human beings.That is what I consider a danger.rather than technology.
