What's the best way to get from Maryland to Charlotte, NC, other than Amtrak and Greyhound?

Does anyone know a transportation service that's relatively cheap other than Greyhound and Amtrak that would go along the East coast?

If you will??? Think out side the box. go to your local small airport. Schmooze the guys that run the office at the airport. Tell them a good story and see if you can get a Hitchhike ride on a private plane. I have done this a bunch of times and actually got to go on a helicopter being delivered cross country once. Its fun and you meet and interesting class of people. Just takes some gumption and style. Best of all. Its free!
