A few weeks ago we had a party at our house and some people enjoyed themselves a little too much... to put it bluntly, one of my friends puked in my bathtub. Since then the tub drain has drained really slowly. I bought 2 bottles of DRANO and used them both in accordance with the instructions but it hasn't helped at all. I don't really want to call my landlord to come and snake it for fear of what he might find, so I'd rather un-clog it myself if I can. Anyone have any experience or knowledge that might help me with this problem?

Whether or not someone puked in your tub, Drano or "Plumbers helper" should have cleared anything that a stomach could hold.
Your problem is probably hair from washing hair in the shower and, it probably was just a coincidence that this happen.

You might have to snake the line, try "plumbers helper" first, in the gray commercial bottle. Wait the allotted time. If that don't work then nothing will.

Get a hair guard from Home depot, it fits over the drain to catch the hair. It'll help in time.

That's so gross and sadly my cousins husband did that in their tub, same problem. I would agree to plunge it and watch out for what flys out at you, lol. Sometimes even Drano won't help when it just needs a good plunging. You have to make sure you get a really good suction going and keep pumping it then POP!

Good luck.

Drano clears drains yet be careful and study label for practise in case you prefer a caustic product. you additionally can attempt dumping some baking soda into the drain, permit it sit down and run the water...i've got carried out that, too.

If you have a crawl space or basement, you should have a clean out on your trap, a good plumber would have put one in. If not remove the trap and clean it. Replacement fittings are very cheap and they are compression fittings, very easy repair.
