Cause people already have the bible, the word of God. And also, for Christians, they have the Holy Spirit. Therefore, if men dont even believe in that, they would not believe God even if he appear to them. They would just pass it off as a hoax, fantasy, or hologram.
Assuming men really believe, being the stubborn creatures we are, we might choose to disobey.

Your talking about God in the past tense and then asking a question in the present tense. A review of your English grammar book may be needed. Now on to, what I think, is your question.
Oh but He does. Just look out your window every morning and see the work of God in the sun, sky , air and the earth. When God speaks, which is often, you need to listen. The only way to hear God is to believe and listen. The next time you ask God a question, open up your mind and your soul and listen for the answer. Oh yes, the answer will most likely, not be verbal in response.

"The word of God" .. lol.. I don't see "written by Jesus" or "written by God" anywhere on the bible. If you knew anything about the bible, you'd also know that it has been redone so many times, that it's hardly an "original".
Good reading material, though. I prefer Revelations myself.
As for the question, God shows up all the time. Look in the mirror. We are our own Gods, we make our decisions and mistakes.

Because he never existed.
There have been other prophets, (definition: nut cases who have delusions of grandeur), and new cults come and go, (scientology, lds), so we have a lot of choices out there. But there is only one clear choice, only one that makes sense, only one that is logical: Atheism. Not a religion, only a realization that all of our religions are false. God does not exist, never did, never will.

He is telling people to bomb abortion clinics.
He is telling people to ignore science and promote creationism.
He is telling Prexy Bush to invade Iran.
A different brand of god is telling people to blow themselves up.
He is telling the Taliban to repress His people.
He is telling people to invade mosques in India.
He is telling Tamils in Sri Lanka to kill.
God is very busy at the moment. He is too busy to answer dumb questions.

because many people just aren't willing to listen. He already told us everything we need to hear in the Holy Bible. if He "showed up" to many people they would still not believe because thier heart is already hardened toward God. and believe it He does still speak to anyone willing to listen to His word and devote thier lives to Him. it may not be a direct voice in your ear but believe me He still speaks to our hearts everyday. whether you want to listen or not is up to you. God doesn't want to force anyone to love Him because that is not true love that is why we were given free will. He wants us to come to Him in true repentance and love Him with all our hearts. not because its something that we feel we "should do" but because it is something that we WANT to do.
