I take it none of you have a clue what you are going about!!!
If you look at the results from the home series last year (Sri Lanka and Pakistan) you will see that Bell performed brilliantly at number six (i believe he hit 3 centuries in four innings at number six against Pakistan) so number 6 is Ian Bell's natural place to bat.
As for Michael Vaughan not being captain? are u clinically insane??? Vaughany is the most successful England Captain in history his win/loss record speaks for itself add to that he is a World Class Batsman, whom every bowler would love to get, speaks volumes!! who would you rather have in charge a meek version of big Fred or a hopelessly out of touch Andrew Strauss.
Speaking of Strauss i think half the reason he is struggling is because he hasn't got the big hitting Marcus Trescothick at the other end to build a big score while straussy picks up a few runs here and there!!!
If it were up to me this would be my England starting 11
M.Trescothick/A.Strauss
A.Cook
M.Vaughan
K.Pietersen
P.Collingwood/I.Bell
A.Flintoff
M.Prior/P.Nixon/G.Jones
M.Panesar
M.Hoggard/R.Sidebottom
S.Harmison/C.Tremlett
S.Jones/J.Anderson
where i have added names after the slash are the alternatives for each place in the side.

Ian Bell is a class batsman and as such should bat at either No 3 or 4. I do not know why Vaughan is in the test team never mind being Captain, he should make way for Bell.
No I am not Warwickshire but think Ian Bell is perhaps the most gifted batsman England has at the moment. Kevin Pieterson gets easily rattled at the crease and he is ok if the team are doing well but ask him to put his head down and graft an innings out and he is found wanting. Ian Bell is good for any occasion .

Well Bell is a good batsmen who seems to be a bit confused bout most things in his batting. He is a lot better batsmen then he thinks he is! The prob is he is a no 3 or 4 but 2 bat at 6! makes no sense.
As far as i am concerned, vaughan at 3 bell at 4 pieterson at 5 collingwood at 6 sidebottom at 7 n then prior n the 3 no 11s shud follow! That will give a better look to the english batting lineup!

Bell is batting out of position .. he should be in at 3 .. The balance of this England side is all up the creek .. There is no genuine all rounder such as a Flintoff so it looks like they have added the extra batter ..
Bell performs better at 3 .. Prior is not a bad bat so in a way the balance is wrong ..

I agree he should bat futher up the order or not at all. He a more natural 3,4 maybe fve at push. But to keep floggin him at 6 is wrong, it will kill his confidence. Straus isn't exactly in the best of form, try Bell as an opener with Cooke

The bell will ring soon! It will then sound like a huge ringing sound, and you will start wondering 'for whom the bell tolls now'!

He was doing well prior to this series.I feel he is not comfortable at No 6 prior to Prior..He must come before Collingwood.
