well a deep thinker goes to far. Ok lets say you see a baby crying well to everyone thats just a baby crying but to a deep thinker. why it that baby crying is it hurt, did it get cut, did some one hurt it, is there something wrong with it maybe it's sick, does that baby have a good homelife, what would make it cry so much like that. I should maybe ask the mother/father if everything is ok. You see a deep thinkers mind never stops for a minute going here and there forever. I know because I am one and sometimes it drives me mad but thats the was I was made

One who can think below 6 feet. No, I am kidding.
One who is able to search the hidden meaning of things.

For example, if I told you that by destroying the records of the Library of Alexandria we did not lose much because the records were mainly those of barbarian nations, a deep thinking bell should ring. Why should barbarians keep a library? Who destroyed such a powerful storeroom and why? Might there be back-up data? If the Hebrew texts contain prophetically encrypted messages, is society interested in the master documents or would we prefer not to know? Would people be interested in discovering that we are doing the same things collectively that the last great civilizations did that caused their demise? Would you be shocked to know that the runaway train of selfishness, war, greed and excessive lust: fro flesh and power had wiped out many civilizations before? Would you be shocked to find out that when the earth purged and swallowed up wicked people in the past, great land masses broke and turned to islands leaving the former intelligent inhabitants wandering around half-naked until they could have showed Columbus a bit of the knowledge they had by showing him a short-cut back to Spain? Would you be shocked to find that survivors left drawings of their flying machines which we recreated and used in our aviation industry?

That is an exercise in deep thinking.

the term may have been coined to identify people who think on more than one 'level'.

someone gifted at double entendre, or able to see not just what occurred today, but what might have occurred in the past to lead us to 'today' and what might happen tomorrow if we do X 'today' could be said to be a deep thinker. or a gifted psychic.

a person who sees beyond obvious facts and seeks to explain and understand the motivations behind those facts might be labelled a deep thinker. or a psychologist.

someone who has the capacity to mentally juggle a high number of variables and scenarios in his head while calculating the best possible course of action to attain a desirable outcome might be said to have deep thoughts. or they may be said to be an all star nfl quarterback.

deep thinkers can occur in all walks of life. being able to see the outcomes and possibilities, the causes and effects of an act, to me indicates a depth of thought that is uncommon.

thinking deeply or 'too much' to the extent every other 'normal-thinkers' get fedup with you. hahaa..

like you can read between the lines, understand things that are unspoken or even have more hind/foresight than the rest do. understanding how to handle a situation by a (better) way different from the usual

and reflecting on life's mysteries - ie thinking back what happend, then knowing that whatever you do anyway, will eventually pass cos life's but a dream. hahaha..

They think more than just outside the box... they are in the box, around the box, in all corners. They want to have a logical process in their answer. They want to know the who, what, when, where, and why of things. They are sure (to themselves) that they have an educated thought before they give an educated answer rather than random input.
