I think their season was last season. Unlike the Patriots and Colts who almost go every season, I think that with a new coach they are going to do 9-7 at best. I actually like the Chargers, but see that everyone talks about LT so damn much. What if he got hurt for 3 games? If he didn't, could they do what they did last year without Scottenheimer? Coaching is more important in the NFL and football in general than any other sport. I hope they can produce what they did last year, but with their schedule I don't think they can. I know they have Merriman, Gates, Rivers, LT, and plenty other weapons. Just want to know without a bias point of view.

i don't beleive they will either. They do have a great defense that should be evern better this year, however i think the coaching change may keep them out of it. New coach with a new system may be hard to pick up and go with. Also they do have a great offense, but it mostly hinges on Tomlinson, basically they are an injury away from having just a decent offense. If Tomlinson were to get hurt for an extended period of time they would be in dire straights. Thie offense focuses on the run to set up the pass (at least with Marty as head coach it did). They will make the playoffs, however i dont feel they will get to the superbowl.

You guys dont get it they have more HB then Ladainian, If LT went down for three games it would be bad but they have the best backup runningback in the league Michael Turner, he probaly starts on 22 other teams. Do you know who scored a 80yard run to beat the colts in the last game of the season two years ago so that they didnt have a perfect season...michael turner, and the people that think LT gets hurt and the chargers are over, well they dont know much about the chargers. And when you talk about coaches yes it sucks that scottenheimer was fired, but things were just going to get worst with him and the manager,if they didnt do something soon the chargers were going to be worst then 9-7. Norv Turner is going to let the team actually play this year by the way. Instead of wasting LT all game he's going to use his head give him some breaks and make him play his best. Also merriman is the best player on defense for the chargers but they have every other spot filled with great players that have talent like quentin jammer at cb. Look out for the chargers this year even though they have new coaches doesnt mean everyone is going to do bad, they are all still players and will play the same and norv turner will help them play even better. Also all they need to do is make the playoffs, because now they have been to the playoffs and know what it is like and tomlinson said that now we can go in and win the superbowl since we know what the playoffs are like. So they dont need to go 14-2 they can still go 10-6 and make the playoffs and win the SB. And if LT gets hurt, boy look out for michael turner he will run over a middle linebacker anyday

Thats funny what the answerer wrote because that was another reason they let go of scottenheimer. The team doesnt choke it was Marty, now they dont have to deal with that.

I played football in highschool and I cant agree more that coaching is more important in football than anything else. But hey look at the Saints. Brand new coach and they did really good last year. No Superbowl but compared to the year before a hell of a lot better. LT is the difference maker for the team and hasn't been hurt yet and everyone gets hurt at some point EVERYONE. But he isn't on the cover of Madden this year so maybe he will survive next season. If the Chargers were gonna do it, last year was their chance. But the reason why football is my favorite sport is because there is never truely a for sure winner or loser. Its always a good game and its about who ever wants it more and makes the least mistakes. So sure they could go I mean look at my team 2 years ago.... The Seattle Seahawks. Not even we thought we were going to the Superbowl at the beginning of the season and we did so you never know what could happen and thats what makes it the greatest game in the world

You won't get a biased opinion on here. There are too many haters and uneducated homers to deal with.

Now, to answer your question:
The Chargers are the most talented and talent loaded team in the NFL! Bar none! Hands down!

If LT gets injured, God forbid, then Michael "The Burner" Turner would fill in most admirably! Plus, there is Philip Rivers, Antonio Gates on offense alone to deal with.
Unlike the Patriots, who would be done if Brady (their only true weapon) gets hurt, the Bolts would prevail if one of the main guys went down for a time. This is a TEAM!
As far as the Norv haters out there. He is the man that put this offense into place the last time he was in SD. It has not changed much and now that he has a talented team to use it with, it is a snap.

Yes, last year should have been the Chargers first of many...but after a minor set back, they will come back and dominate again.
Put it down and bank on it!

I actually think they will be the team to beat this year. With the weapons they posses on both sides of the ball, I wouldn't be surprised if they did make it all the way with a new coach. But then again if the "almighty" LT sustains an injury then their hopes would be seriously relinquished. In the NFL it is all but predictable, so I guess we will have to see what happens.

I think onecthing that'll hurt the Chargers is the re-emergence of Denver. Cutler is not a rookie anymore.

As for the coach- Barry Switzer was dragged by his players to a Super Bowl. (of course the players had won playoff games previously.:))

No. Norv Turner is capable of destroying any team, even one with the talent of the Chargers.

about the lt hurt thing, mike turner is good as hell. turner was a downgrade, they will get into the playoff, but maybe 10/11 games. they have a shot.

team wise the have a chance, but everyone knows (some dont want to admit it) the coach will screw it up. Norv turner is not a good head coach.
