First off, I DO believe that there are people with amazing spiritual gifts, (I actually have a couple of them in my family). That being said, Occasionally I will watch Montel when nothing else is on, and it seems like Sylvia is always on his show, she just sits there scratching her hair with those dragon claws growling at people. It's so obvious she is just guessing answers for people, maybe she was psychic at one time in her life, but I believe her "gift" (if there ever was one) is GONE now. She needs to stop playing with peoples emotions (And hard earned money). She has already been proven wrong NUMEROUS times, I don't know why Montel insists on having this fraud on his show constantly, it makes him look just as shady.

Thanks for all the interesting responses. As for Peter D.. That is really ignorant to say if you believe in all psychics you have to believe in them all!?"!? Do you apply that to all scenarios in your life? C'mon!

I know i am. i remember a few years back she said that a famous game show host was goin to die that year. i thought that it was going to be Bob Barker b/c he's old. but nobody ended up dying. it's some other things that she so calls "predict" and is totally wrong. then she tries to justify what she says and corrects herself. i even read something about her ex-husband stating that she was a fake. on the website stopsylviabrowne.com they say that she does "cold readings". which are basically educated guesses passed as "predictions"

I haven't seen Montel since the last time I used a laundromat, and that was a long time ago. But Sylvia Browne has jumped the shark. Her true believers will never let her down, but anybody who has at least an ounce of rational thought left in them has certainly lost faith in this fraud.

I don't believe she ever had a gift. I don't watch montel, but I will definitly not watch it now, because that con-woman annoys me.
Heres another thing for you, she verbally accepted the Randi Million Dollar Challenge in 2004 on Larry King Live, (if you don't know what that is, its a million dollar prize for anyone who can demonstrate paranormal abilities under controlled conditions) she came up with a test, and to date, she has been too busy to schedule in the actual test.
Come on, she couldn't schedule one day in over 3 years to scientifically prove that psychic abilities are real?

Yes. I would rather a see a variety of psychics/mediums on the show. I would also like to see people like Gary Schwartz, Ph.D. that conducted experiments (and wrote the book the "Afterlife Experiments") at the University of Arizona to both test their abilities and correlate brain ave readings when they were using abilities.
Now let me correct some obvious misperceptions for people. While there may be psychics that claim to have 100% accuracy this is unlikely as it is a human performance issue. Just like Michael Jordan couldn't play his best game every time out no psychic (even if you accept an ability) could be right every time out.
Was Sylvia Brown wrong? yes, many times, was she ever right? Was she right more than chance would predict? This is how you test abilities. I would like to see her in the University of Arizona lab for controlled test myself. However, a one time demonstration for Randi would be a waste of time for her and everyone else. If Randi would agree to a series of controlled trials and establish a statistical threshold to meet people would take his challenge but he demands 100% accuracy in one demonstration. Which as I pointed out not even MIchael Jordan could guarantee he would make 100% of say 100 basketball throws from a free throw line.
If you believe in one psychic you have to believe in them all? What kind of logic is this? These are people claiming to guard science against the paranormal? I think Mozart was a good piano player so I think everyone can play up to his level is nonsense. Also, I think people cheat and lie in all walks of life. I believe in the police but not in those that are now in prison for planting evidence.

I don't watch Montel. I've seen it, and I have seen Sylvia Brown too. Don't care for her much. I think his show has gone downhill, so I agree with you there.
I don't watch a whole lot of TV, but that Billy Mays is incredibly annoying.....can't stand that guy. Also had enough of that inane Vonage commercial too.
Someone should post a question about what/whom on TV annoys you most....lol.

Yes. Yes. Yes.
Maybe his ratings are high when she's on.
It is sort of like Maury with his repetitive shows where the mother has no idea who the father of her child is.
Montel does a great job with his show. He just needs to limit Sylvia or rotate through various psychics.

It saddens me to see how many people believe in Sylvia Browne. It also saddens me to see how many people believe in psychics. Given the fact that there is nothing that has ever shown the existence of psychic abilities I'm amazed that they are still around.
I'm sorry to say this, but if you are going to believe in psychics you have to believe in them all. You can't just pick and choose whom you want to believe in. Although it's true that it's possible there are some that are genuine and some that are fake, since there is no way measurable way (i.e. evidence, proof, etc.) to tell who is legit and who isn't you have to take *all* of them on their word. That is the downside of believing in magic.
EDIT: My comments above *do* sound ignorant and illogical at first blush, but if you read it again it might start to make sense. Of course it's silly to believe that all psychics are the real deal, but considering the *fact* that they all--frauds and true believers alike--HAVE THE SAME EVIDENCE IN SUPPORT OF THEIR PSYCHIC CLAIMS (that is, none), then what criteria would allow you to determine which are legit and which are frauds?

I agree. I believe that some people can see things like she is supposed to but the last few times I've seen her she seems like she is just making it all up. I don't think you can see everything about everybody like she claims to anyway. I'm sure there are some people you just can't read. She probably does have a gift but she's exploited it to the point she's becoming a obvious fake.
