No, the doctor's representation should not be charged to the cost of medicines; and it is, for me, unacceptable in conscience.
It is, sadly, practiced by some in the Philippines. Pharmaceutical Company's Med Rep provides sample to doctor. Doctor prescribes the branded medicine to patient. Patient buys the branded medicine. Doctor gets remunerated by Pharma Coy (cash or representation expenses) for every prescription he/she makes and the patient buys.
Instead of prescribing generic medicines that are way, way much cheaper, doctors prescribe these expensive medicines for the perks. And these perks are the added cost to the branded medicines.
And this is the reason why some some pharmaceutical companies are against the passing of the generic bill.

the 1st thought that got here to my techniques upon examining this positioned up replaced right into a million. WHY is college classes value is united statesa. ridiculously costly? WHY do colleges need plenty money? a college isn't an employer like Apple or Microsoft. My sister will graduate from her 4 years of college quickly and the whole coast of classes pee paid throughout the time of those 4 years....is OMG too plenty. the quantity is almost as plenty because of the fact the U.S. nationwide debt. 2. do colleges actual want a lot of money? 3. united statesa. is presently dealing with an economic disaster; this is predicted to be between the worst ever in U.S. history. So unemployment is a increasing situation, the economic device is getting spoiled and there are extra harmless voters suffering under the poverty line. and that i'm no longer against the government however the federal government would not seem sorting it out properly. i do no longer be responsive to that plenty with regards to the ecnonomy, so I discovered from my sister (she's a employer / economics substantial) and that i will tell that the rustic, the economic device etc are all dealing with a disaster. Soo....i do no longer be responsive to yet till the government delivers to love help the damaging pay for college or something I strongly recommend that faculties do no longer improve classes expenditures. in any different case...united statesa. will face an excellent worse academic disaster. Does the stuff I typed make experience? desire it does. And......the sturdy information is that the costly classes value paid to a super college replaced into actual properly worth it in view that my sister have been given a super activity 2 weeks till now graduation.

Technically, yes. But I do not think that that is the reason for the exorbitant costs of medicines in the Philippines.
Why technically yes? Because all operations costs are factored in when products are priced. Soaps and shampoos are priced not just using the cost of raw materials, but also for operating costs like office and manufacturing plant rental, staff costs, executive salaries and benefits, costs of research and development etc. Doctors trips become part of operating costs, or maybe marketing costs.
But the real reason is that the multinational companies are just arbitrarily pricing these items high, for bigger margins. Same branded products from the same company, manufactured in another country can cost much less when imported. Thus, the drug companies are presenting these as fakes, when they know these are not.
Hopefully the law is passed, and that the people will oppose the lobby strongly enough so that our "beloved" politicians will take heed.

No, never. why would the patient be the one to shoulder the expenses? That is what we call expenses. Can you charge the cost of new tables you bought for your office if you are into for example courier service. I know the only one doing this is the meralco because you cannot do anything whatever they decide to put into your billings. If you are not satisfied you can look for your own electricity supplier which is none.
So in short no you cannot charge the cost of doctor's representation to the cost of medicine or you might lose your client.
