Without a doubt. I was a teenager on the street 20 years ago, and we wouldn't have dared behave like some of the kids today. I'm not saying we were angels, kids are kids, but violence and criminal damage never even entered our minds. There was never much for us to do, and we did used to hang around in bus stops and maybe have the odd can of cider, but we were always polite and would never swear at adults or shout abuse etc.. I remember having to be home by 9pm when I was 15, and 10pm when I was 16 - that was on a weekend!!! I remember as I approached my 20's, I noticed the group I hung around with start to get into drugs, that's when I made a quick exit. most of them now are unemployed, have teenage kids and live in council houses, I know I would have gone the same way had I not cut all ties when I did. Since then, things have just gone from bad to worse, I think it has a lot to do with the parents of these kids, they are still kids themselves. I live abroad now, but when I read the news from back home in the UK, I thank God I don't live there anymore.

crime is not on the increase (on a general level) but the gravity of crimes is increasing.
I can't remember the actual statistic - I may edit this later - but over the last 10 years youth crime has actually gone down.
The TYPE of crime being committed is what has changed. Yes. Some people out there should never have children. I think they have them purely to get more money from the state.
Secondly we have no punishment in this country, jail is like home from home. Human rights laws have ruined this country. If you have deliberately killed someone you have no rights.
