It's a cute name. I'm assuming Daddy's name is Jay? Hence the Jayne? If not....oooopsie : ) - maybe think of spelling Kelsey differently, more uniquely since you are going with that particular spelling of Jane/Jayne. Just so it looks nicer when writing it.

Kelsey is a VERY popular girls name right now. Do you mind your child having the same name as many other little girls she will go to school with?

About the name Kelsey:

The boy's and girl's name Kelsey \k(e)-lsey, kel-sey\ is pronounced KEL-see. It is of Old English origin, and its meaning is "victorious ship". Also possibly a place name referring to "island". Popular preference for Kelsey and its variants may be influenced by names like Chelsea and Casey.

Kelsey has 12 variant forms: Kelcey, Kelcie, Kelcy, Kellsey, Kellsie, Kelsa, Kelsea, Kelsee, Kelseigh, Kelsi, Kelsie and Kelsy.

Do a baby name search, you'll find all kinds of interesting things about names. We aren't aware of your last name, just make sure it all flows nicely together.

The ULTIMATE test of a Child's Name:

Imagine your child is 2 years old and running around a crowded public area behaving badly. In the comfort of your room shout at the top of your voice:

Kelsey!!!! STOP DOING THAT RIGHT NOW!!!!

If you are feeling really brave, do it in public. If you are still feeling comfortable with the name kelsey when you shout it in public then it is a good name. The idea of this experiment is that it measures how a name feels in everyday situations. For example: Buttercup get over here now!!! Doesn't sound right :)

I dont like the name Kelsey with that spelling. I wouldnt use the name at all for my child...but if I were you, and liked the name, I'd spell it Kelsea Jayne or even consider changing it to Chelsea Jayne.

It's a fine name. I'd prefer the spelling of Jane, though. I'd prefer Chelsea over Kelsey, too.

It's cute. I don't personally like Jayne, but the name sounds nice together and if you like it then hey, it's your child! =)

Not bad at all. Strong names, interesting spelling of the middle name without being too difficult. Also neither name brings anything immediate to mind, which is a huge plus.
