Also his MVP's are a joke Kevin Johnson had a much better career as a Phoenix Sun player and he never won a MVP that's right there was Michael Jordan around, Magic Johnson, Larry bird, Charles Barkely, David Robinson, Karl Malone, Scottie Pippen, etc..... To compete for the prize what now you have Stoudemire, Bryant, James, Duncan, Anthony, Iverson, etc..... I still say that he didn't deserve the award in any of those years but since the talent pool has dried out a lot I guess the NBA had to give it too someone. Anyways how sad is it that Nash isn't even the best point guard the Suns ever had? Kidd was good, but he left and didn't have as good of years as KJ did. Kidd was a better rebounder then KJ but KJ was as tough as nails and took it too the hole with no fear!

Obviously when you look at the talent he had to go up against for the MVP there's no way in hell that KJ would win a MVP, but please show me where Nash has brought a team to a championship game for the Suns?

Johnson is one of only four players in NBA history to have averaged at least 20.0 points and 10.0 assists per game in three different seasons. Johnson is one of four players to have averaged at least 15.0 points and 10.0 assists per game over the course of a season while shooting at least .500 from the field.

Johnson is one of only two players (the other is Magic Johnson) to have averaged at least 20.0 points and 10.0 assists per game over the course of a season while shooting at least .500 from the field. Both Kevin Johnson and Magic Johnson accomplished the feat twice, the former in 1988-89 and 1990-91 and the latter in 1986-87 and 1988-89.

Do not give me Jermaine O'neal as an argument that he needed somewhere else to go first. The Blazers screwed up on that they knew of his talent he was out of high school at the time so they knew he was developing into a fine NBA center. The only problem the Blazers had was that Wallace was there and he wanted the ball all the time. There's a difference as well O'Neal came out of high school, Nash graduated from Santa Clara and played for 4 years!

I was about to rip you a new one, but then I checked out the stats myself. Your right... Kevin Johnson had better numbers, and his teams for the most part were equally succesful (regular season and playoffs). Plus, who knows if Nash can perform as well as long as Kevin Johnson (I doubt it).
I disagree with there not being the competition out there now (the guys out there now are just as competitive as the guys you mentioned... it's a more spaced-out game now, and the bangers of yesteryear wouldn't play as well... most of them even admit it... Pippin, Barkley, and Malone all say so), but for Kevin Johnson, you are absolutely right!!! He was better.
As for why Phoenix loves him now. He plays better than the first time. Plus, people have short memories.

Alright, you are sort of right, KJ had the best statistical years in Phoenix than either of the other two, but not by that much. He certainly didn't have a much better career as you say. Nash definitely has deserved his MVP awards and should have had a third if they just didn't want to hand out three in a row.
Nash has been a true MVP, you throw any guy on a team with him and they look like an all-star. Plus people love the new style of play the Suns basically started (through Steve Nash) so he's going to have more fans than the other two. That's just the way it is.
If he wins a title with them in the next couple of years, he'll definitely go down as the best Suns' PG. People shouldn't care that he wasn't the greatest point guard in the league during his rookie year.

Kevin ohnson may have been bette, but what is your point? The fact is, Nash is better than any player now, with the exception of Kobe and/or LeBron. He developed, and got better. Nash was a third string point guard while the SUns had KJ and Kidd, so what did you expect? The change of scenery was exactly what he needed. He developed under offensive genius Don Nelson, and came back better than anyone in the leaguewhen he was placed in the offense he was born to run.

He was much younger during the time. I think you know this. Not every player have an impact on their team instantly. These players need this "adjustment period" to go to the flow. Look at Jermaine O' Neal, he was going nowhere in Portland until he was traded to Indiana where he blossomed to the great post player he is now. Steve Nash was the same, at his first stint in Phoenix he was still learning from KJ. He had blossomed in dallas and upon his return in Phoenix he was so effective he caused his teammates to improve drastically (Why? they were always booted out the first round before Nash came back). Yes, Nash wasn't the best Phoenix guard ever but the timing in where he came back was just terrific he caused them to be title contenders almost instantaneously, and that is why he's MVP.

Give me a break man! Wallace was their main man at the time!! It's just like asking would I give the ball to Kobe or Jordan Farmar at crunch time? Obviously you would know the answer. Another example? Your question on which you asked why KJ wasn't MVP. They had Charles Barkley! Who would you vote MVP Barkley or KJ. Obviously, it's Charles!

It might have something to do with their resurgence as an NBA power. Maybe not. As far as Nash not being their best point guard ever, please direct me to the site that shows how many league MVP awards Kevin Johnson has won? KJ would never have won an MVP award. Don't blame it on MJ. KJ was a pretty good player, nothing more.
I'd bet the asker gave me that first thumbsdown because I don't share his narrow view. All hovering over his question like some sort of hen over her eggs.
Oh, love those queery arguments that go "one of only two who did this, that and the other." Well, no I don't. I think they're *****.

If you don't think Duncan or Iverson is competition, you're screwed.Nash is amazing,if you seen him play.I'd like to see Kevin Johnson do HALF the stuff Steve does.KJ did have more competition, but that was when the league was clean and players didn't have to worry about Tim Dohangy or getting away with knocking people in the balls.(Bruce Bowen.)Steve Nash is the best point guard in the league, open your eyes.

I dont even want your points! You are an idiot ! Seriously, if you had brought up better points. I personally dont think he deserved both MVPs, maybe just one of them. By the way, a player is not judged on his past accomplishments (MVP) but what he did in the season. Youre an idiot.... PERIOD.... !!!!!
