I agree with you! Then again, I don't even bother with today's music because I'm always listening to my burned CDs when I'm in my car and my downloaded stuff when I'm on my computer. As Trent Reznor so eloquently put it, "If I happen to accidentally turn the radio on and hear, for example, an emo type screamo band, I literally can't tell the difference between one of 20 bands."
I wish crap like PATD and MCR and 30STM would just die... it's really not worthy of radio time. Their lyrics are nothing but shallow, insipid "music" that attempts to make money by duping the minds of our youth. It's absolutely irritating when I happen upon some reviews for such bands. It usually goes along these lines: "OMG! I, like, totally LOVE LOVE LOVE <3 this album by ! That one song by them like, totally, made me feel so much better cuz like, I just broke up with my bf and like, I REALLY related to the lyrics!!!"
...
*sigh* Well, it's good to know that some 15 year-olds still have SOME taste in music. I personally am not that big of a fan of the bands you've listed (my tastes run along the lines of Nine Inch Nails, Tool, Disturbed, etc.), but I still know that they're great, timeless musicians.
Don't even get me started on mainstream rap/hip-hop! lol... the underground stuff is fine, but the mainstream gets an "F."

Punk Music isn't today's music. It was 80-90's music.
The new stuff is always called Pop until it becomes Oldies.
Wait till Britney Spears is on "Oldies in the Morning"
You should try Hawksley Workman and other Canadians. They can't sell out cause no one wants to buy.

I like all those bands, but is todays music really punk? think The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, The Misfits etc. that was punk.
I like some of the newer music, Muse, Wolfmother stuff like that.

Yes, there's a redundancy forming here... although it's possible to find the occasional gem, much of the mainstream sounds the same. I really wish someone would come up with something "original" again. Sigh.

I dont know if i hate it but i think it could be better. My genre i like is hiphop r&b rap and all dat stuff. The back in the day stuff was so much better than whats coming out rite now. Todays music in my opinion has good beats but the lyrics makes no sense watsoever. Bak in da dai evrything has sense and meanin. Now its all about what song will make da most monei. It doesnt matter wat the lyrics is.

I cannot stand the rap music but I do not consider it music really. I also do not like people turning it up so loud like everyone wants to hear their music. I have noticed too that the hispanics play their music loud, some of it has nice instrumentals but loud is just not good!

Lets go back about 15 year before that.
People thought us hippies were crazy and meaningless.
But our music rocked the house.
