Thanks to those that answered my question yesterday. another pregnancy test helped restore my faith in them, as I got a positive reading from First Response. My husband was exstatic when I told him! He was the one who first suggested I could be pregnant, as I turned down dinner one night and ate crackers instead. Smart man, he is.

Now i'm sort of scared. When i get to the doctors, I'll be about 3 months along. I don't often weight myself, but i can't have put on more than 5 or so pounds, and i don't look that different. I mean, I know doctors usually pump you full of pre-natal vitamins and telly ou to eat more of certin foods, and myabe my baby is goign to be sick becuase he didn't get the chance to do that yet? But i mena, in the middle ages they didn't have those things and peopel still lived, eh?

Well, my question REALLY is: When was your first doctors appt. for your pregnancy? and is my doctor goign to be mad it took me so long?

I had spotty periods for the first 4 months of my first pregnancy, so I didn't even know I was pregnant! By the time I had my first prenatal visit, it was time for an ultrasound already! My daughter was born perfectly healthy, and is now an active 8 year old girl, so don't worry so much. Pregnancy is a perfectly natural thing, don't fret about every little pound, or if you miss taking a vitamin once in a while. As far as the weight gain goes, you gain most of it during your second trimester, so if you've gained 5lbs, you're doing just fine. Calm down and enjoy this time. Congrats and good luck. Email if you want.

When I turned out pregnant with my second child I was about 3 1/2 months along before I went to see the doctor. Your baby will be fine. Just remember to take your prenatals everyday and drink plenty of water. I also took an extra dose of Folic Acid on the side to help develope my baby's brain and spinal cord.
Your doctor shouldn't be mad, if anything your doctor will probably be happy that you did the right thing by seeing him/her.

Best of luck throughout your pregnancy and delivery...

Don't stress yourself out unnecessarily. There are certain doctors who won't even see pregnant women for their first visit until after they are at least 12 weeks along. Ideally, you'll want to get on prenatal vitamins as early as possible, but starting a couple weeks late won't be the thing that makes or breaks you. The way you treat your body goes a long way to seeing your child healthy and well!

Best of luck to you and no worries!

My doctor wouldnt see me for my very first prenatal visit until I was 10 weeks along. I had it at 10 weeks n 3 days pregnant. I dont think 3 months is too long.

My docs appointment was at 5 weeks. Then my 1st hospital appointment was 3 months. They dont like to see you before hand cause anything can happen before 3 months and usually after that time you are safe!!

Congrats on your pregnancy!! Yeah!!!

My doctor doesn't see people until they are at least 10 weeks pregnant. So I wasn't able to see her until I was 12 weeks. So don't worry there is no harm to your baby!! Just make sure you take your vitamens daily when you get them.
