Earth
In fact the most recent theory on the formation of the moon is that while the earth was still semi molten a planetoid collided with the earth pulling off a piece of it and this piece cooled and formed our moon.
Most of the surface is covered with dust, ground find powder with sharp edges that can slice through a thin suit. What ever the surface of the moon used to be like over millions of years the constant collision of asteroids and comets has ground themselves and the surface of the moon into a fine powder.
The scientists that got there hands on the moon rocks were disappointed in how similar they are to rocks formed on earth and that is where the theory got its start. Most of the moon is igneous rock that was formed from volcanism and then ground down by billions of years of constant pounding.
Sedimentary rocks are formed with the action of water, since the moon never had any running water there will be no sedimentary rocks on it. Metamorphic rocks are other rocks that are subjected again to high heat or volcanic action to form new material. The moon still has a molten core thanks to the rotational energy of the earth, but it hasn't had volcanic action in billions of years. It is too cool, to exposed to space, and spends half of its life in the shadow of the earth. So it is cold, very cold and dead. The greatest action on the moon, besides the crash of a comet or asteroid, is dust falling.
When a comet or asteroid collides with the moon it will create a lot of heat and the explosion could generate enough energy to melt rock, therefore creating metamorphic rock, but this isn’t very common and then it gets covered in more and more moon dust.

kids would say cheese, but it is really made of rock, dirt, and nickel. It is bsically just another huge asteroid from the asteroid belt brought into our gravitational atmosphere and countinues to be hit by meteors.
