Overall, I'm happy. I voted for the Colosseum, Machu Picchu, Petra, and Chichen Itza, but I think Stonehenge should have made it. I think it's more deserving than Christ Redeemer. And I don't think the Pyramids of Giza were "on" the list were they? I thought it was just an "honary candidate" because it still exists and there was a big fight about how they Pyramids shouldn't have to compete with everything else.

But anyway, as I said, I'm overall happy

Well these new ones are the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. All those other wonders are gone except Giza, and evidently the folks the put this new group of wonders together added Giza as well as an "honorary candidate" after Egypt complained. But I think all the other wonders truly are among some of the most amazing manmade wonders in the world. I think the Easter Island moais and maybe Angkor Wat should've made it on the list, they're incredible. Really there's a ton of monuments out there, these rankings don't mean anything.

Giza got a "special pass"

I discard Taj Mahal and Christ Redeemer for Easter island and Stonehenge.

The rest may stay

i thought it was nice since the great wall of china deserved a lot of credit. i liked the hanging gardens, the temple of Artemis though. I overall thought it was a great idea. i really thought they needed to do it. The Taj Mahal also deserved a lot of credit

I had read somewhere that a Brazilian government or church leader (can't remember which) held a speech that they should vote for the Christ Redeemer. If that is the case, its the only reason it made in on the top of the list.
