i never really got this so maybe sum1 can help me out?
if clark and the whole kryptonian race come from another world then how is it that there are symbols and such from Krypton in that cave he discovers?

Kent Shakespear, above, has it right. In fact, there was an episode a few seasons back where we learn that Clark's dad, Jor-El, visited Smallville itself in the 1950's, and met Hiram Kent, Clark's adopted grandfather. That's one reason Jor-El chooses Smallville KS to send his only son, when Krypton is imploding. It's assumed that other Kryptonians visited centuries or millennia before, and left the cave paintings, and that (as with Jor-El) visiting earth was once a kind of rite of passage.

as far as I understand, there had been a series of visits by Kryptonians to Earth over the centuries.
