I've had this very discussion with friends. I don't have a background in psychology, but I saw your question pop up in the general area, so I thought I would answer, since I have an opinion on this.

I think yes, people have a natural tendency to be bisexual. I think it's only when ones parents and society's view points come into play, that a person's opinion or outward attractions maybe swayed one way or another. Also, just because a person may have a tendency to be "bisexual" doesn't necessarily mean they need to act on them, only stating, that I think all of us may have an attraction to both sexes.

If by "natural," you mean a tendency that is not specifically passed down culturally, then, yes, people have that tendency, same as we all have had the urge to kill.

But when it comes to sexuality and sexual preference, there are culturally enforced attitudes and behaviors that muddy the waters. The horrible truth is that our sexual natures are rarely absolute -no one is "all" boy or girl. Rather, various inherited or congenital attributes "vote" on what we are more likely to become; the existence of a penis is a vote, a nurturing tendency is as well -so is body hair and -well, you name it. In more simplistic days, social pressure, education and training finished, or tired to finish, the job that nature has begun, so people were readily classified one way or the other.

But in modern times with more liberal views, scientific advances and a bit more tolerance, these pressures are somewhat reduced. And the result is exactly as one would expect: there are all kinds of sexual expression and preference. It should come as no surprise that bi-sexual orientation is among them and the only way that could be so is that it was there all along.

All that said, the fact that not everyone would describe themselves also indicates there were very few "votes" for it in the case of that particular individual. But, for those whose interest and even activity include bi-sexual situations, the votes obviously were heavily in favor.

So, yes, the tendency is natural, but more present in some than in others.

Make sense?

Yes, the most theories say that you are born with it. I am not so sure about that though. Some people just don't realise it as soon as others, or they didn't experience enough situations to be able to determine their tendencies. Experimenting is not such a bad word, it clears up these kind of things pretty fast and certain.

Watch the animal world like cats, dogs, birds etc.etc. one will notice when they get horny they just wanna do it. The male ones just wanna shaft it in, likewise the female too behaves abnomally. Now when it comes to humans we have reasoning, see ? I do think humans were fired up by their ability to imagine things and that kind of imagination takes expressions and then you know what ? Aha ! the desire says lets have a party, see? There's no need to explain further, do I ? Personally I am a 100% man and my choice is of course, Aha ! the lovable exciting juicy holes of the women folks.....yeah, no kidding...it just too exciting to describe, see? Aha ! ( You can say this as an opinion.....or whatever la)

I know I do, and I don't think there's anything wrong with anyone else who does. I don't think it's for everybody so I wouldn't go so far as to think about if other people do or not.

But tendencies and actually going through with something are two totally different things. I might think about it but haven't done it.

Maybe not bisexual tendency, but I think everyone is curious about being in a homosexual relationship, even homophobes.

EVERYONE is bisexual.
I have male friends. I don't consider them more then friends, but I DO have a relationship with them. I have female friends too, and I like women as more then friends. So I'm bisexual, but I lean to the straight side. I wouldn't officially say that I'm bi, because I'm not sexually attracted to guys, but I am bi, just like everyone else out there.

i wouldn't say tendency, but maybe curiosity. i think most people have wondered what it would be like to be with the same sex. not that they are even attracted to that sex, or really want to pursue a real relationship with the same sex. i think it's normally in young people who are just exploring their sexuality.

well, i'm 59 and for years have believed that if people were left to grow to adult hood without being socialized by just about everyone around them in most cases, the majority would probably be bi-sexual. that is to say that i think we all have the capacity to love either/both sexes, but we don't all explore our capacities due to social pressures to fill certain gender roles. then most religions back those gender roles up with massive negative consequences for breaching them, and etc., etc.
this is just the way it seems to me

no. i am female and i never had a bisexual thought. i love my boyfriend of 9 years and he is all i need . i do not need to think of anybody else when i am with him. if people do tend to have those thoughts i bet not 20% act on them.
