I have been invovled in 2 major traffic accidents.

The most serious occured when i was 9 years old. It was me and my family and my uncle in a small hatch back honda accord, 6 people total. A drunk driver rear ended us on our way back from San Diego to Los Angeles, driving on the 5 freeway. Our car skidded and rolled across 4 lanes of the highway, finally coming to rest on a hillside. Luckily we missed a steep ravine by 50 feet (18 meters rougly). It was a miracle none of us was killed. I sustained a broken arm and some cuts, thank God, even though i was not wearing a seatbelt.

Well first, when you plead "not guilty," that does not automatically dismiss you of the charges. [[If that were true, everyone would be doing that, and no one would have points on their license.]] What will happen then is you will be given a trial date, inwhich you and the officer show up, and the officer would have to prove Beyond a Reasonable Doubt that you are indeed guilty of careless driving. During this, the officer will make his statement, you will be able to question the officer, make your statement, and their is a possibility that the other person in this accident may be subpoena-ed to be there as well. If it comes to this, and while you are questioning the officer, I would say things like, "Officer, isn't it true that you advised me to plead not guilty to this charge?" THEN, one of 3 things will happen: 1) The judge will find you guilty of reckless driving, and the points will go on your driving record 2) The judge will find you innocent and drop the charges completely, with no points on your record or 3) The judge may reduce the charges at his/her discretion. Your other options are to 1) Plead guilty, suck it up, and get the points on your license or 2) Plead "nolo contendre," a latin term for "no contest" in which you neither admit nor deny guilt. However, this plea usually results in the judge finding you guilty anyway with the same results. You insurance will cover the damages for the other person's car. But depending on your policy [[whether you just got simple liability, or full coverage that protects you as well]], your car may or may not be fixed. And, yes, your insurance will likely go up.

Was hauling 6000 gallons of water, when the semi had a computerized censer shut down the semi. Upon trying to steer semi and water tanker over to side of the hwy. the water shifted causing water tanker and semi to flip over onto it's side. Was trapped for 4 hours, jaw of life to be set free of the wreck and 3 1/2 months later in ICU ward.
Very lucky to be alive and sure makes you stop and think about ones life. ;-)

I have to say, for me a type of person whom wasn't so religion, you sure do find God in your lowest time in life.
Amen to that.

Does getting hit/run over by a tour-boat count?!?

Was the summer of my highschool graduation :-) (ahhhh, good times good times)...anyway, was at some beach deserted beach resort (was a working day, people still having exams and at work) with best friend and buddy (real annoyance)...

We decided to go out to sea on a paddle-boat ride...nice cool breeze, full moon, got a nice buzz going...etc (you get the pic)...

Being a work day, deserted & at night, there wasn't enough lighting comming from the shores, we felt a bit uncomfortable/unsecure, so we turned back to shore....

Our dear friend (reeeeeeeeaaal anoyance) kept nagging that we go back for another ride (like a kid who wants his ice-cream).....so we caved. half way into the middle of the sea, we hear a big motor sound comming our way but we couldn't tell from which direction exactly...gradualy, we formed a picture and realized it was one of those huge tourist boats (like the ones that have glass in the bottom so you could see the fish and all..)....we started waving and screaming but thing was, they couldn't hear us or see us as their only working spot light was pointed upward at the sky....

Next thing you know, its comming dead-on...my friends have have the reflex of standing up/jumping......I frooze!!Schocked, couldn't budge...then BAAAAM!!

One minute there's this big thing comming at me...the next, I'm laying under it, sandwiched between the paddle boat and this 1Ton boat on my chest....amazingly, still breathing.....

My best-friend tried to pull me out from under but was impossible.....i started sinking with the weight on me....at this point, I pretty much came to terms with the situation and accepted that I was dying.....(no flashing movie of my life though....just feeling bad for the people I love..etc)..

Then, we're not all clear on what happened, but suddenly, the boat just kinda drifted off of me...I stood up like nothing had happened, covered in an ocean of my own blood but with only a few minor scratches and unpleasent bruises...but i was up and good to go :-)

We didn't even bother calling the authorities...Friends took me to the nearest hospital, after I washed off all the blood (the white paddle boat was no longer white!?!)....rushed to x-ray, nothing but a badly bruised chest and a bad cut on my wrist (didn't even need stiching), and my eye was a bit blood-shot from a "knock on my head...doctors filling a report never beleived our story..said, "no way I could simply wake away from THAT!?!"....

Went home, couldn't go to sleep....(a little post-traumatic disturbances in the months to come) but was up and running like nothing had ever happened.......At first, I was ANGRY with God!! "How could this happen...why me....bla bla bla....." but then, I realized that I couldn't be more thankful to be alive :-)

Could never, ever forget that day!!The summer of 96..............
