Bush usually spends August "at the Ranch", at least he has every year so far but I haven't heard or read anything yet this year about vacation at the ranch plans for him.

Has anyone heard anything about him going to the ranch this year?

I really don't like the idea of him in Washington with Congress not minding the store next month.

I have a motive for asking this question. those who know history know "the Gulf of Tonkin incident" which launched US officially into Vietnam occurred in August 1964 when Congress was on vacation.

Worth keeping an eye on.

Didn't find anything in a search this time, but they may be keeping a low profile on announcing where he'll be.

Yes, on August 21 he is going to Canada to talk about the Security and Prosperity Partnership. North American Union and in my opinion the destruction of America.

The guy is lazy, so that answer would be a resounding YES! He has spent more time on vacation than any other president - really reprehensible, but yes, I do have to agree maybe it's better than him being in Washington! Of course, you have to consider the Pres-in-absentia - Cheney. So maybe it's not a good thing all the way around.

I believe a more fitting question would be, "Is Bush going on vacation this MONTH?"

The answer almost always is yes.

For all of the bullshit that he goes through all year by whiners and freaks - yea he deserves one - about a month long.
